DECEMBER Artist of the Month - Toon Troop .recording artist.

Toon Troop a musician from Vicksburg, MS currently living in Atlanta, GA states "I’ve been doing music since I was 8 years old and started in the church choir. At the age of 14 I was asked to join the Mississippi Boys Choir which took me all over the world singing.

I started writing my own songs during my freshman year of college and started recording songs my sophomore year with the group So.Co (Pell and LV)
and released 2 mixtapes. I picked up the stage name Troop from my grandparents last name Troupe and just added the Toon to the front because I like watching cartoons - Dragon Ball Z is the shiz. After the second mixtape release under the name So.Co. , the 3 member group, split for each member to grow and go solo. I just released my first solo LP titled “Mind Of A Toon” this past thanksgiving.
I feel timing is everything so expect a mixtape from me yearly on thanksgiving. Some of my main musical influences are Drake, Lil Wayne, Short Dawg, T-pain, and Travis Porter. I’ve broadened my musical horizons since finishing my past mixtape so expect better and greater music from me in the future.

NOVEMBER Artist of the Month - Drizzy .recording artist.

Born and raised in the outskirts of Montgomery, AL. The only thing that kept me out of trouble was music and basketball. I wrote my first song in 5th grade. I still remember the lyrics and all. I put music on hold for sports, which I feel was a mistake in eyes. But, I made it to college; I started back writing music and networking with producers from Taylor Gang's Sledgren to natives like @Sir_FlyWalker. I make music based off my feelings at the moment. Every song is a different chapter in my mind. My influences are Outkast, Rakim, Curren$y, and Tity Boi.

OCTOBER Artist of the Month - Sir FlyWalker 1/2 of the FLynamic Duo Da A$tronautZ

Sir Flywalker, a student at Mississippi State University, has been chasing his dreams since the age of 13. He has produced and done songs with artists such as Curren$y and other artists from the JETlife movement

CoMan x Sir FlyWalker

His production credits span from the duo "Da A$tronautZ" which he is a member of, to many other independent and signed artists in the new wave of hip hop. Though, not originally from Mississippi, he holds the area down in his raps because the lifestyle in the deep south influenced his viewpoint in the rap game.

PRESSING FOR POSITIVITY, through musical form and informational passages of rhyme, Sir Flywalker is definitely on another level. Doing the opposite of others before him, and innovating to start new trends, he has an unmatchable style that is complimented by his musical brother CoMan. The moves he has made with music are all a product of looking different.

Catch up with JUNE Artist of the Month - Jay W. Grishby Jr. .designer.

Grishby States

"I ambitiously leaped into the air; lingering there for a lengthy six hours. I graced the streets of Dallas, Texas when i landed. Helloooooooo
Wade College, →
where I am continuing my studies in Fashion design. I decided to give the lone star state a taste of Grishby. The plan is to cultivate my design skills while blossoming my knowledge of and experience in the fashion industry. June 3, 2011 was the departure date. Two Friday's post that date I attained employment at
Buffalo Exchange as a buyer. Thankful!Thirsty for experience, I immediately dove onto the sales floor to observe current trends, pouring fiber contents and the philosophy of fabrics into my inquiring mind. Eager to climb the corporate ladder, I fancy my threads each day to impress my instructors as well as managers.

Opportunities come in abundance here. I am very thankful to have had the privilege to move from MS and I'm working hard to make good grades and acquire colossal publicity. Kaycee Harding, admissions counselor at Wade College [fcbk] happily informed me that my application was one of the best she had seen in a while. This was intensely motivating. My drive is now flaring and my choices are definitely daring. The new home is molding to my being just fine. Up, up and away I go.

Fashionably Yours,

Jay W. Grishby, Jr."

JUNE Artist of the Month - Jay W. Grishby Jr. .designer.

A shallow look into the depths of Grishby:

"I’m bored. Bold. Outlandish. Rare. Evolving. Determined.  I’m currently channeling my anger, depression, brokenness, and lonesomeness into creations. Color is life. I dwell deeply within that life. But let me cut to the chase. I’m just a 20-year old aspiring designer with ugly feet and hands of wisdom that’s determined to abruptly establish myself in the fashion industry. Later this year I plan to showcase my 24 piece line entitled, Grishby. “All in a day’s work” will be the name of the show. The line’s inspiration is based around nature and a woman who is desperate to gain freedom. I design any and everything, from shoe laces to brooches to elegant gowns. Weird, lanky models will wear an array of looks in my show to exhibit the versatility of my design skills. Also, I will portray what fashion is to me and my personal design aesthetics. I like to describe myself as a weirdo. My favorite color is green. I’m only human and I love peanut butter crackers, but at the end of the day all I want is to be known for making beautiful clothes and to walk amongst the two-legged creatures who wear them."
